"Congratulations Inside Sport on
introducing your readers to mountain biker Niki Gudex in your
November edition.
Somehow, in the medal-crazed melee
which marked our Sydney 2000 fortnight last year, the sport
of mountain biking seemed to slide quickly out of sight. This
is despite the top ten placings of Cadel Evans, Paul Rowney
and Mary Grigson at the Olympics and the consistently outstanding
results of Aussies on the world circuit. With Evans and co
blazing cross-country and Gudex promising to turn potential
into performance as a downhill racer (she placed 21st at her
world champs debut last month), Australia has a squad equal
to any nation in the world.
Thanks for a good photo spread and
report on the sport and one of its hottest (however you look
at it!) stars."
Inside Sport magazine, Letter of the Month:
Kieran Cranley, Canberra, Australia.
